By having the open sides you require a smaller building than an enclosed shed, plus you the remove the risk of the tyre change vehicle backing towards a solid wall and potential crush injuries. The outside area can be cordoned off during operations giving the tyre change vehicle plenty of room to safely operate.
Workshops and maintenance centres are one of the main uses of a variety of sizes of mining fabric structures. These range from the boilermakers and electricians work centres to the high "tub up" structures for servicing the mining trucks.

Bulk storage is another area where mining fabric structures can be very effective. Ballast is sometimes used to equalise the pressure from the internal product on the containers as it provides a more even suport than internal steel ribbing. With heavy storage materials that are to be pushed up high steel plating to protect the containers is worth considering.
