Walkway Shelters
Fabric Walkway Shelters are cool, attractive, low weight and easy to transport. One of their major benefits is that the entire installation process is from underneath the structure, with no working at heights documentation and permits required. With iron clad walkway shelters you have to work from above to fasten the iron with screws, plus they are heavier and bulkier to transport.
Walkway shelters are becoming more important from a health and safety perspective, shielding staff on the main thoroughfares at mining camps and also aviation and marine terminals. They can be free standing or attached to existing buildings.
The fabric shelters are cool compared to the iron clad option, due to the vented eve's and because the fabric does not absorb and radiate heat, giving a more relaxed environment. You have the choice of colours for the fabric if you wish to have it similar to your companies branding.
Birds roosting are less of a problem with fabric walkways. Steel clad structures normally have larger gaps between the cladding and the beams making an inviting place for the birds to roost.
The covers let an even lighting during the day and lighting can be supplied for afterhours use.
The fabric shelters over the walkways are popular with many of the large camp suppliers to the mines such as Ausco, as they are simple and very low maintenance and are easy to remove and store. Spare parts are universal which minimises the amount of stock needed on hand and makes ordering replacement parts for relocations straight forward.
